Cosy textured cropped cardigan.

The Velvety cardigan was designed with a slouchy, modern silhouette in mind. The roomy square sleeve, dropped back shoulders and boxy body provide a casual style.

The cardigan is knitted in an easy yet beautiful texture that creates a fluffy and airy structure to the garment. Velvety is knitted bottom-up. Sleeves are picked up along the armhole and worked in the round, with some final decreases for a more balloon effect. Cuff, neck and body ribbing are worked in a twisted rib. The model in the picture is 169 cm / 5 ́75” tall and wears a Size 2.

12 (13, 14, 15, 15) (16, 17, 18) skeins of Lang yarns Regina. (50 g = 175 m / 191 yds) (50% cotton, 24% alpaca, 20% silk and 6% wool).

The cardigan is knitted by holding two strands of yarn together.

If you want to achieve the marbled effect, use 6 (6, 7, 7, 7) (8, 8, 9) skeins of each colour.

For the sample, we used the colourways ”04” and “94”.

NEEDLES

4.5 mm / US 7 circular needle, cable length 80 or 100 cm / 32 or 40” for the main body and cable length 40 or 60 cm / 16 or 24” for the sleeves.

4 mm / US 6 circular needle, cable length 80 or 100 cm / 32 or 40” for the ribbing.

GAUGE

After blocking: 20 sts x 26 rows = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4” on 4.5 mm / US 7 needles in pattern stitch worked flat.

This cardigan is designed to have an oversized fit and is intended to be worn with approximately 19 cm / 7.5” of positive ease at the bust.
